Welcome Home Baby Party

I haven’t ever planned a welcome home party before, but I’m planning one. This is my daughter’s fourth baby, so I will not be having a baby shower. I am planning it for a family and friend time and a big brother party as well. It will be a cookout on the grill with hotdogs and brats.

The only drawback is that the date will be the Saturday of Memorial weekend. My hope is that the baby will be borne by then and maybe be at least a week old. I have made out a list of the decorations and food to be on the menu. An invitation is put on social media so I can get an idea how many will plan to attend by RSVP. l picked up paper cups, plates and plastic ware at a dollar store too.

I already planned on what foods I want to have and made a guest list to call, also. I am letting my guests know about the plan for it to be a big brother party, too. Having the 3 brothers’ guests of honor was a great idea, they said. As far as decorations and setting up, I will most likely do that when I go down there the beginning of the week. My husband will be cooking the hotdogs and the brats on the grill and I will buy the salads and sides the day before.

Well as I was planning this party, my daughter had her baby boy born 6 days earlier than predicted and that went very well and it was a good thing. It went so well that I could include my daughter and her husband in on the planning of the party.

She had a photographer come to take pictures of the family the beginning of the week when we came down. This photographer took pictures of the whole group, small groups and individually. By the end, the baby was sleeping and his individual pictures were taken in a snap as he was swapped into different clothing and the use of different backdrops. All went beautifully well.

The week went fast with planning and collecting the RSVPs. The little one got time to meet his big brothers and they got to become comfortable with him around.

Inspire of the holiday weekend, many friends and family decided to come to the party. The weather was cooperative and the garage and house was decorated. The food was all welcome by them that came to celebrate the little one and his family. Pastor and his wife came and dedicated the little one to the Lord. It was a great day and everyone had a wonderful visit. Everyone welcomed the new little one and congratulated the big brothers and the Mom and Dad.
