Trump Demands Lower Gas Prices: “Drop Your Price for the Great American People!”

President Donald Trump is calling on gasoline retailers across the country to lower fuel prices immediately, arguing that American families should benefit from falling oil prices instead of paying inflated prices at the pump.
In a forceful message posted on Truth Social, Trump urged fuel companies to pass savings directly to consumers and warned that his administration would not tolerate price gouging.
“DROP YOUR PRICE FOR OUR GREAT AMERICAN PEOPLE! NO GOUGING!”
Trump Pushes for Lower Prices at the Pump
Trump pointed out that crude oil has been trading near $68 per barrel, arguing that gasoline prices should reflect those lower energy costs.
The president said Americans deserve affordable fuel after years of inflation and rising living expenses, emphasizing that lower gasoline prices would provide immediate relief for working families, commuters, and small businesses.
Trump has repeatedly stated that expanding domestic energy production and reducing unnecessary regulations are key to keeping fuel prices low.
California’s High Gas Prices Face Renewed Criticism
Trump also criticized California’s energy policies, arguing that state taxes, environmental regulations, and government mandates have contributed to some of the highest gasoline prices in the nation.
Conservatives have long argued that excessive fuel taxes and restrictive energy policies increase costs for consumers while placing additional burdens on businesses and families.
Supporters of the president say expanding American oil production and reducing regulatory barriers would help stabilize prices nationwide.
Goal: Affordable Energy for American Families
Trump suggested gasoline prices should move closer to $2.50 per gallon, saying lower energy costs would strengthen the economy, reduce inflation, and leave more money in the pockets of hardworking Americans.
Energy prices remain one of the most closely watched economic indicators, and the administration has continued to argue that affordable fuel is essential to economic growth, job creation, and improving household budgets.
As debates over energy policy continue, Republicans are expected to make lower gas prices and increased American energy independence major priorities heading into the next legislative session.
