On Friday morning, a bus crash near the Pentagon resulted in 23 people being injured, including 10 personnel from the Department of War. The Pentagon Force Protection Agency confirmed the incident in a statement.
The collision occurred at approximately 7:20 a.m. and involved an Omni Ride bus and a Fairfax Connector transit bus. The crash took place on the Metro Access Road, a busy area during the morning commute.
Emergency responders arrived quickly at the scene. Eighteen of the injured passengers were transported to nearby hospitals for further medical treatment and evaluation.
Five passengers were treated at the scene and were later released. Fortunately, none of the injuries were reported as life-threatening.
Despite the severity of the crash, first responders were able to clear the area efficiently, minimizing the disruption to traffic and other activities around the Pentagon.
