Iran’s Tasnim News Agency, which is affiliated with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), reported that no memorandum of understanding has been finalized between Iran and the United States. The outlet emphasized that discussions are still ongoing and no official agreement text has been completed.
According to Tasnim, Iranian officials have not informed the Pakistani mediator involved in the negotiations that any finalized document exists. The agency added that Tehran would notify both the mediator and the public once a formal memorandum of understanding is ready.
The statement came in response to earlier reports from international outlets, including Reuters and Axios, which suggested that negotiators had reached a draft framework. Those reports described progress on a 60-day extension of the ceasefire and the start of structured talks on Iran’s nuclear program.
The reported draft proposals have also included broader issues such as reopening the Strait of Hormuz for commercial shipping, easing restrictions on Iranian ports, and discussions about the presence of U.S. forces in the region. However, none of these elements have been officially confirmed by both sides.
Iranian state-affiliated sources have repeatedly stressed that key issues remain unresolved, particularly regarding sanctions relief, frozen assets, and the sequencing of nuclear-related commitments. Officials have also indicated that nuclear concessions are still under negotiation and not part of any finalized understanding.
As of Thursday evening, there has been no official confirmation from President Donald Trump or the White House regarding a finalized agreement. Iranian officials, meanwhile, continue to describe the talks as ongoing, with further discussions expected in the coming days.
