In a post shared on Truth Social, Trump stated that a memorandum of understanding has been largely negotiated between the United States, Iran, and several other countries involved in the discussions. One major component of the proposal includes reopening the Strait of Hormuz, a critical global shipping route used for transporting oil and other energy supplies.

Officials familiar with the discussions said the agreement would move forward in phases. The first stage would focus on formally ending active hostilities and restoring maritime access through the Strait of Hormuz. The waterway plays a major role in global energy markets, making stability in the region a key international concern.

Additional talks are expected to continue over the next one to two months and may include discussions involving Iran’s nuclear program, sanctions relief, and broader regional security issues. Reports indicate the draft proposal includes commitments related to nuclear development, shipping access, and adjustments to certain economic restrictions involving oil exports and trade.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio indicated that updates on the negotiations could emerge soon following diplomatic meetings abroad. Several international leaders, including officials from Middle Eastern countries and regional allies, have reportedly participated in discussions connected to the framework. Pakistan has also been identified as an important intermediary during the negotiations.

Iranian officials have acknowledged that proposals are currently under review by senior leadership. While negotiators have reportedly made progress, some unresolved issues remain under discussion through diplomatic channels. Officials on both sides continue working toward a possible agreement aimed at reducing tensions and improving regional stability.
