Shocking Details of the Antifa Attack
Prosecutors described how the defendants, dressed in dark clothing and face coverings using “black bloc” tactics, arrived armed with firearms, explosives, body armor, and military-grade medical kits.
They launched fireworks and explosive devices at the facility, vandalized government property, and attacked responding law enforcement officers. One officer, Alvarado Police Officer Thomas Gross, was shot in the neck but miraculously survived.
Benjamin Hanil Song, identified as the group’s leader, shouted “Get to the rifles!” before opening fire. He received the longest sentence of 100 years in prison after being convicted of attempted murder of a law enforcement officer and multiple terrorism-related charges.

U.S. Attorney Ryan Raybould emphasized that these actions went far beyond protected speech. “Their terrorist acts, attempted murder, vandalism, and explosives… were a far cry from a peaceful protest,” he said.
Federal judges described the attack as “an assault on Democracy,” noting that only divine intervention prevented an even greater tragedy.
Restoring Law and Order in America
Under President Trump’s leadership, the Department of Justice and FBI are finally treating violent domestic extremism with the seriousness it deserves. This massive sentencing stands in stark contrast to previous years when such attacks were often downplayed.
Americans who want safety, secure borders, and respect for law enforcement have reason to celebrate this strong victory. The Trump administration continues to prove it will not tolerate violence against our institutions or those who protect them.
This case sends a loud and clear message to radicals: Attacks on America will be met with the full force of federal law.
