New satellite imagery is providing a clearer view of damage at several military and infrastructure sites in Iran following days of strikes and counterattacks in the region. Images released by the Earth-imaging company Planet Labs show damage at facilities near Konarak, including vessels and structures affected by explosions or fires. Additional images appear to show destruction around naval installations in Bandar Abbas along the Persian Gulf.
Separate imagery from Vantor indicates damage around port infrastructure in Bushehr, where several facilities and nearby ships appear to have been affected. Satellite photos from the same area also show a crater near a bunker at a local air base, with surrounding smaller structures damaged. Analysts reviewing the images say they suggest multiple impacts across the site.
Other satellite photos appear to show damage at the Choqa Balk drone facility in western Iran, as well as strikes on radar systems near Zahedan close to Iran’s borders with Pakistan and Afghanistan. Additional images from Shiraz show aircraft on a runway surrounded by scorch marks and debris. The sites shown in the imagery are spread hundreds of miles apart, indicating the wide geographic scope of the reported strikes.
Images taken above Tehran show smoke rising from several areas of the city following reported explosions. Meanwhile, Iran has launched missile and drone attacks in response, with reports of damage in regional locations including Sharjah and the nearby Jebel Ali Port. The broader conflict escalated after strikes reportedly killed Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, while former U.S. president Donald Trump has continued to comment publicly as the situation develops.
