Republican Momentum Builds As GOP Wins Key Special Elections In Texas And Florida
Republicans scored another pair of important victories over the weekend, strengthening conservative momentum ahead of the upcoming election cycle and highlighting continued voter support for commonsense policies centered on economic growth, public safety, and election integrity.

In Texas, former Montgomery County District Attorney Brett Ligon secured a decisive victory in the special election for State Senate District 4, filling the seat previously held by Brandon Creighton after his appointment as Chancellor of the Texas Tech University System.
Ligon defeated Democrat Ron Angeletti and will serve the remainder of the current term before the two candidates face off again in November for a full four-year term.
Following his victory, Ligon thanked voters for their support and pledged to focus on conservative priorities that reflect the values of the district’s residents. Senate District 4, which includes portions of Chambers, Harris, Jefferson, and Montgomery counties, has consistently supported Republican candidates and delivered a strong margin for President Donald Trump in the 2024 election.
Texas Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick welcomed the result, calling it another sign of the Republican Party’s strength across the Lone Star State and emphasizing the importance of maintaining conservative leadership in Austin.

In Florida, Republican Hilary Holley successfully defended House District 51, defeating Democrat Edwin Pérez and preserving GOP control of the seat. Holley secured approximately 55 percent of the vote, maintaining the district’s Republican representation and preventing Democrats from gaining ground in a key battleground area.
House District 51 includes several rapidly growing communities throughout Polk County, including Polk City, Davenport, Haines City, Lake Alfred, and Auburndale.
Holley’s victory was backed by endorsements from several prominent Florida conservative leaders and reinforces Republican strength in a region that remains critical to future statewide elections.
The twin victories in Texas and Florida arrive as both parties intensify preparations for upcoming elections nationwide.
Republicans argue that voters continue to support policies focused on securing the border, strengthening the economy, lowering costs for families, and restoring confidence in American institutions.
