Johnson said he believes President Donald Trump could soon announce progress toward a broader agreement aimed at reducing tensions in the Middle East. According to Johnson, a key condition of any potential deal would involve preventing Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons while also addressing regional stability and shipping access through the Strait of Hormuz.

The speaker noted that reopening major shipping routes could help ease pressure on global energy markets. He argued that lower fuel costs could eventually impact transportation expenses and broader consumer prices, including groceries and household goods. Economic concerns such as affordability and cost of living, he said, are expected to remain major issues heading into the midterm elections.

Johnson also highlighted several Republican legislative priorities focused on taxes, economic growth, and energy policy. He said party leaders remain confident about their political position going into the next election cycle and pointed to fundraising efforts and candidate recruitment as areas of strength for Republicans.

Meanwhile, Trump shared an update on social media regarding negotiations with Iran, describing discussions as productive while emphasizing that any agreement would need to meet U.S. security expectations. He also referenced the possibility of expanded diplomatic cooperation involving several Middle Eastern nations and regional partners.

Trump additionally encouraged broader participation in the Abraham Accords, suggesting that expanded regional cooperation could contribute to long-term stability. Discussions involving countries such as Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Egypt, Jordan, and the United Arab Emirates have reportedly continued as part of broader diplomatic efforts connected to the negotiations.
