Trump Secures Historic Iran Peace Agreement, Signals New Era of Energy Stability and Global Security
President Donald Trump arrived at the G7 Summit in France on Monday following what supporters are calling a major foreign policy breakthrough: a newly finalized peace agreement with Iran aimed at reducing tensions, strengthening regional stability, and protecting global energy supplies.
During bilateral discussions with French President Emmanuel Macron, Trump highlighted the significance of the agreement and praised Vice President JD Vance for his leadership role throughout the negotiations.
Speaking alongside Macron, Trump emphasized the economic and security benefits of the deal.
“The agreement is completely signed,” Trump announced.
According to the president, the agreement is expected to help stabilize global energy markets by ensuring smoother access through the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world’s most important shipping routes.
“The main thing is that Iran will not have a nuclear weapon,” Trump said, underscoring what he described as a key national security achievement.
Trump also thanked Macron for his support during negotiations, noting that international cooperation played an important role in reaching the agreement.
Vice President JD Vance is expected to participate in the formal signing ceremony in Geneva, highlighting the administration’s commitment to securing long-term peace and stability in the region.
Macron described the agreement as a “very important peace deal” and emphasized the importance of maintaining regional security, supporting economic growth, and ensuring continued diplomatic engagement.
The breakthrough comes as the Trump administration turns its attention to additional global challenges, including ongoing efforts to encourage peace negotiations between Russia and Ukraine.
“We had a very good conversation yesterday with President Zelenskyy and President Putin,” Trump said. “I think they are both open to it.”
Supporters view the Iran agreement as another example of Trump’s America First approach to foreign policy—combining diplomacy, economic leverage, and strategic negotiations to advance U.S. interests while promoting international stability.
According to statements released by both governments, the agreement establishes a framework for ending hostilities and launching broader discussions regarding Iran’s nuclear program and future regional cooperation.
Trump celebrated the announcement on Truth Social, calling it a major step toward peace and security throughout the Middle East.
“This Great Deal will bring Peace and Security to the whole Region,” Trump wrote.
Energy analysts are watching closely as the agreement could ease pressure on global oil markets, strengthen supply chains, and support economic growth worldwide.
With world leaders gathered at the G7 Summit, the agreement is already being viewed as one of the most significant diplomatic developments of Trump’s second term, reinforcing his message that strong leadership and direct negotiations can produce results where previous efforts have fallen short.
